"At 1:30 am, October 8, the barrage started and the 2nd Canadian Division went over the canal. At 4 am the Germans retaliated, killing Bombardier A.M. Wilson, gunners Cleland, Shaw, Holmes, and Stone, and wounding 15 others, including Lt F.H. Palmer."

War Diary page : On October 8, 12th Canadian Siege battery was at Haynecourt

According to CWGC datas, only Wilson is dead on October 8th, Cleland is reported to be dead on October 9, Shaw on October 13, Holmes and Stone on October 10.

Also died on October 30th : Lieut J.W. Sharples  between Abscon and La Sentinelle
